Embedding Windows Media and QuickTime Video on a Web Page

After several weeks of false starts and deadends, I've finally come up with what seems to be the best solution for displaying video on a web page. You can use a streaming server, but I had so many problems getting it to work that I finally gave up and decided to use http.

Yesterday was a lousy day. I fired up the computer, all prepared to get to work on the site I've been building for over a month. I took one look at the homepage flickering on the screen, and suddenly I recoiled in horror.

I've been on lone kid duty for four days now while Jon is at the Final Four in St. Louis. I haven't gotten much done. Well, I did go to two birthday parties, as well as a birthday dinner at Chuck E Cheese. And I've watched The Incredibles 39 times. In between getting sippy cups of juice and sitting on the footstool in the bathroom because a couple of the other inhabitants of this house are scared of being on the potty alone too long, I managed to finally get over to the CSS Zen Garden.
