Workin' Overtime

I've been working long hours lately on some cool projects at the university. I thought only freelancers worked such ungodly hours. Not! Turns out I hadn't taken into account the universal appeal of turning little digital squiggles into virtual realms of color, shape and context. I'd also forgotten about Remote Desktop. One thing I'm discovering is that the joy of creation is independent of your employment circumstances. Whether you're a freelancer, a staffer or an amateur, fashioning something out of nothing but thin air and your own brain waves is downright thrilling. Web designers take empty space and, using thought alone, create something tangible there. That's awesome, no matter who's signing your checks. So please forgive me if I continue to blog erratically. I do try. But those little black squiggles...
